South Taranaki Creative Communities

Do you have a project in mind that will get people involved in the arts or strengthen your local arts sector?

Creative expression is fundamental to developing our sense of who we are and how we relate to each other. The Creative Communities Scheme, jointly administered by Creative New Zealand and the South Taranaki District Council, aims to foster an environment that supports creative expression and provides greater opportunities for people to enjoy the arts - wherever they live and whatever their circumstances.

The first funding round for 2010/2011 year (August/September) is currently underway and application forms can be found at your nearest Library Plus as well as at the Council Contact Centre in Albion Street, Hawera. Both individuals and groups may apply for funding for projects that
  • increase participation in the arts at a local level,
  • increase the range and diversity of the arts available to local communities or
  • enhance or strengthen the local arts sector. This includes training, skills development for participants, organisational development including research, information and promotional projects.

If you would like more information or just want to discuss your application please call the Community Funding Co-ordinator at 0800 111 323.

Applications close Friday 17th September at 4.30 pm. The Creative Communities Allocations Committee looks forward to receiving your application. For more information, please contact Maryse Death, Community Funding Advisor by phoning 0800 111 323 or emailing Maryse.death@stdc.govt.nz
